One of the few Japanese classic cars and these days a rarity in Europe. It has had two owners from new on 15th May 1970. The 791 cc straight-4 engine produced 70 bhp (52 kW) at 8000 rpm, thus making this Honda’s first 100 mph (160 km/h) car, but still allowing for 35 mpg (6.7 L/100 km). This particular car is in tip-top condition thanks to a complete, body-off 3-year restoration process that ended in 2016. A recognized Dutch firm carried out this meticulous restoration. The body has been galvanized and powder-coated. When re-assembled the panel works were as new. The paintwork was given an extra protective thermo-plastic coating. The chrome details were all replaced. The chassis is colour coded. The engine was fully revised and tuned by a Dutch Honda specialist. This also meant that the transmission, brakes, steering and rear axle were replaced. It now has a 1-2-3 ignition, 2 fully revised Weber carburetors and full stainless steel exhaust system including the manifold. The cabin trim was also completely renewed using high quality black leather. As such this car is better in all aspects than the original! Without a doubt this is one of the most lovely S800`s around and it is ready to go!!
